ABOUT JAMES

James Michael is a singer/songwriter and a multi-platinum producer and mixer. He consistently delivers chart-topping music across many genres for a diverse group of platinum artists like Victoria Justice, Halestorm, Hillary Duff, Meat Loaf and recently Kelly Clarkson, who’s hit single “People Like Us” (penned by Michael) appears on her Greatest Hits Album. Michael is co-founder and lead singer of the rock band Sixx:AM, which he formed with Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe) and DJ Ashba (Guns N’ Roses). While Michael’s lead vocals, songwriting and production are showcased in Sixx:AM, his talents have helped distinguish the work of artists such as Papa Roach, Mötley Crüe, Alanis Morissette, and Sammy Hagar.

Michael produced, co-wrote and mixed Papa Roach’s acclaimed album, “The Connection”, which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 200 album chart. Other recent projects include mixing Hinder’s album “Welcome to the Freak Show,” as well as collaborating with Grammy Award winning rock band Halestorm, where he was a co-writer and featured vocalist on their song “Private Parts”. He produced, mixed and co-wrote Mötley Crüe’s last studio album “Saints Of Los Angeles” that debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

Sixx:AM’s debut album, “The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack,” produced/mixed by Michael, was on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart for 26 consecutive weeks and featured the No.1 rock track of 2008 and gold-selling single, “Life Is Beautiful.” He also co-wrote and produced and mixed the band’s sophomore album, “This Is Gonna Hurt.” The album debuted in 2011 at #10 on the Billboard Hot 200, and its first track, “Lies Of The Beautiful People,” went No. 1 at Active Rock radio. Sixx:AM’s most recent album, “Modern Vintage,” was also helmed by Michael and debuted at #1 on the rock charts. Featuring the hit single “Stars” and a cover of The Cars’ classic “Drive,” the album has been described as “Hope. Pure and simple…hope for the future of rock music… And hope for the broken; physically, mentally, and emotionally.” (National Rock Review.)

After a five year stint in Nashville, Michael returned to Los Angeles to build Red Level Three recording studio where he currently writes and produces for his band Sixx:AM and many other artists. In 2016, Michael produced two new albums for Sixx:A.M.: First "Volume 1: Prayers For The Damned," which featured the hit single "RISE," and was soon followed by "Volume 2: Prayers For The Blessed," accompanied by another hit single "We Will Not Go Quietly." Sixx:A.M. spent a majority of 2016 on a world tour covering the U.S., Europe, Canada, as well as Japan. In 2017, the bands debut album "The Heroin Diaries" will celebrate it's 10 year anniversary since it's original release.

James is currently in Los Angeles developing new rock and pop artists, and focusing heavily on his strengths as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, lead vocalist, producer, and mixer.
