In addition to being an accomplished solo artist, Michael is co-founder and lead singer of the rock band Sixx:A.M., which he formed with Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe) and DJ Ashba (Guns N’ Roses).
Sixx:A.M.’s debut album, “The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack,” produced by Michael, was on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart for 26 consecutive weeks and featured the No.1 rock track of 2008 and gold-selling single, “Life Is Beautiful.” He also co-wrote and produced the band’s sophomore album, “This Is Gonna Hurt.” The album debuted in 2011 at #10 on the Billboard Hot 200, and its first track, “Lies Of The Beautiful People,” went No. 1 at Active Rock radio. Sixx:AM’s next record, “Modern Vintage,” was also helmed by Michael and debuted at #1 on the rock charts. Featuring the hit single “Stars” and a cover of The Cars’ classic “Drive,” the album has been described as “Hope. Pure and simple…hope for the future of rock music… And hope for the broken; physically, mentally, and emotionally.” (National Rock Review.)
In 2016, the band released 2 critically acclaimed albums, "Vol. 1: Prayers For The Damned," followed closely by "Vol. 2: Prayers For The Blessed." Both albums were produced/engineered/mixed by Michael. In an article reviewing "Damned", Loudwire.com commented that Michael is a "vocalist with a wide range and distinctive sound. From softer crooning to dramatic singing to full-throated belting, he has all the bases covered." The article goes on to say: "Michael does an excellent job producing and mixing the record. The sound is modern and crisp with plenty of power and depth." The band spent a majority of 2016 on the road, traveling throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Japan.
